The torturously slow-burning first thirty minutes or so act to lull you into a fragile but unavoidable and going insane leaves you much more vulnerable to the creatures. Despite routine references to crazy powers and an epic light versus dark struggle, Beautiful Creatures is a bland film experience that is surprisingly devoid of actual movie magic. It is some time before you encounter your first creature, and this is vital to the fiendish logic that makes Amnesia tick. Creatures of Light and Darkness. Duality of light and dark features heavily in Amnesia, but the inspired nuance of its execution leaves Alan Wake's cheap theatrics quivering in the shadows. I believe that there are far more of us than their are dark ones, and our light will destroy the darkness.
